Bed Bug Control

Bed bugs are small, reddish-brown insects that feed on the blood of humans and animals. They are often found in mattresses, bedding, and furniture, as they prefer to hide in tight spaces close to their hosts.

How We Treat Bed Bug

Close-up of a bedbug, a common pest in homes

To treat a bed bug infestation, we start by inspecting the property thoroughly.

  • We check the mattress, box spring, dressers, curtains, etc.
  • We then treat the infested items with products specifically designed to treat bed bugs.
  • Furniture and the edges of carpeting are also treated. If needed we’ll remove outlet covers and apply dust products.
  • For heavy infestations, we recommend heat treatment.
  • We can also freeze the bed bugs with a Cryonite freeze machine using dry ice/carbon dioxide.
  • Bedbugs are small, oval, brownish insects that live off the blood of household pets or humans.
  • Adult bedbugs have flat bodies about the size of apple seeds and become enlarged and reddish in color after feeding.
  • Their favorite hiding places include mattresses, box springs, bed frames, and headboards where they can reach people easily at night.
  • Although they are a nuisance, bedbugs do not transmit diseases.

Types of Bed Bug:

Woodlands, Texas, is home to a diverse array of ant species, each playing a unique role in the local ecosystem. One prevalent species is the Carpenter Ant (Camponotus spp.), known for nesting in wood and capable of causing damage to structures. The Red Imported Fire Ant (Solenopsis invicta) is notorious for its aggressive behavior and painful sting, often forming large colonies in open areas.

The Acrobat Ant (Crematogaster spp.) is common in woodlands, nesting in both soil and wood, while the Odorous House Ant (Tapinoma sessile) releases a foul odor when crushed and is often found foraging for food indoors and outdoors. The Texas Leafcutter Ant (Atta texana) is recognized for its impressive foraging trails and leaf-cutting habits.

The Little Black Ant (Monomorium minimum) is a tiny species often found in woodlands, nesting in soil and under rocks. Additionally, the Pavement Ant (Tetramorium caespitum) is known for constructing nests in pavement cracks, making it a common sight in urban and suburban areas.

The Pharaoh Ant (Monomorium pharaonis) is a small, yellow ant that often nests indoors, creating colonies in warm and humid environments. Lastly, the Field Ant (Formica spp.) is widespread in woodlands, building nests in the soil and contributing to ecosystem health by preying on other insects and pests.
